Uniss – Lesser God – Citadel 7 Sci-fi Book Series Character

Warden Uniss
Uniss – Lesser God – Some call him the Extraordinary Soldier. As a Warden of House of Zero, Uniss is their answer to any enemy engagement that proves particularly stubborn to subdue. Though revered by many, Uniss is also a Commander with a dark past. His manner is one that considers all his actions carefully. He can be charming, understanding, or merciless and brutal in equal measure. He appears to everyone as a handsome human male in his 50’s, a man of mixed white and indigenous Australian birth. Uniss’ record in the Fortress of Bach archives will be found heavily redacted to unauthorized eyes. There will be no mention of any mission function on Lord Zero’s behalf during the first Citadel war. But there are eye- witness accounts of him on the battlefield, and at critical turning points in many decisive battles. There he is always described as ‘very effective’.

By the time we meet him looking across the road at a young Ben Blochentacle for the first time, he is a soul needing some crucial answers. As Ben’s mentor Uniss carries both war horror and victory in a tight braid of stoicism and an unbending will to succeed. This ‘attitude’ he passes on to Ben.

Under his Warden’s gray duster hangs the same God Cutter blade ‘Day Break’, which was swung to devastating effect in every battle. Uniss has a strong relationship with his Jenaoin symbiont, Trev. He appears as a drover’s hat, and has access to Uniss’ total mind. Trev knows all Uniss’ secrets. As a Warden of Citadel Council, he is endowed with ‘calming touch’. Having this ability means using his voice, or a touch of his hand sets any sentient of equal standing or below him at ease.   The record states that, in the first Citadel War, Uniss, Dogg and Agent Starlin fought alongside each other. The three commanded the most formidable assault battalion the House of Zero had at that time. Their troops were called “The Truth Battalion”, later to become known simply as, “The Truth.” The record does show that Agent Starlin betrayed Uniss and Dogg in a treacherous twist that caused the senseless death of trillions.

The record does hint that Uniss became embittered with Starlin’s betrayal and defection to a rival house. The record says Starlin deepens Uniss’ hatred by murdering his one true love in an act of merciless execution. Something Uniss was helpless to stop. Sometime after that, Uniss stands alongside Ben in the darkest events in superverse history. His relationship with Ben swings between compassion for Ben’s own plight, and his and Dogg’s own need to survive. Something that could wipe the memory of all three from Superverse existence.
