Coming Storm: Thorr’s Journey is an action-packed sci-fi/fantasy novella from Yuan Jur’s super universe series called Citadel 7. Thorr, a young Scarzen warrior, is accused of participating in an unsanctioned duel and murder. His father, Tralldon, the clan leader of the Hammer Forge outpost, sends him on a mission to Talon West to present himself to the Head of Bunker Security, Dorjaa. However, the journey is treacherous, and soon Thorr runs into the rogue Scarzan Morlaak and his Celeron crew, who have been illegally trafficking slaves. One of the captives turns out to be Princess Nattai of the Minima. After a brutal battle with Morlaak and his guards, Thorr arrives at Land Fall, where the mysterious Uniss helps him escape through a secret tunnel. But an encounter with a terrifying monster befalls both Thorr and Morlaak. Will Thorr reach Dorjaa?

Steeped in action, mystery, and lore, Coming Storm follows a warrior’s quest to clear his name and restore the honor of his family. The narrative is gritty, violent, and thoroughly gripping. Author Yuan Jur drops the reader into things from the get-go, and it’s a wild roller coaster of a ride from there until the end. Jur has built a truly sprawling fantasy universe, featuring world-hopping characters, horrifying monsters, and brave warriors who put everything on the line to complete their mission. The terrain of the world of Tora is brutal, and the setting suits the dark and gritty tone of the narrative. As a fantasy fan, I couldn’t have enjoyed this book more and had an absolute blast reading it. In conclusion, if you love action-packed stories with warrior protagonists and apocalyptic worlds, this is exactly what you’re looking for.
